Senior researcher dr. Aurora Neagoe was born on January 23, 1965 and is a senior researcher degree 3 and scientific coordinator of the Research Centre for Ecological Services (CESEC) which belongs to the University of Bucharest. She studied physical chemistry at University of Bucharest and performed a PhD in natural sciences at Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena. Then, she worked for several years at University of Bucharest in FP5 and FP6 projects like ERMAS2 (ENV4-CT95-0061) and NICOLAS (ENV4-CT97-0395) in the work packages dedicated to nitrogen and phosphorus biogeochemistry. After running as PI a project dedicated to heavy metals biogeochemistry in the Danube floodplain, she obtained a post doc. fellowship in phytoremediation field at Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena in the frame of a Marie-Curie project MIRACLE (EVK1-CT-2001-56001). In 2005 she obtained a Marie Curie reintegration grant (DEMOS-MERG-CT-2005-517913), and came back to the University of Bucharest setting up a bioremediation laboratory inside the research centre CESEC. She run two other reintegration grants, NATO and CEEX II and since 2007 she obtained as project director major grants with national funding dedicated to fundamental and applied biogeochemistry of metals. Her managerial competence is demonstrated through both coordinated projects and holding of a project manager diploma. The visibility of her scientific contributions consist in six invited talks at Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena between 1997 and 2011; talk at International MC2 Marie Curie Conference in April 2006 at Manchester; working visit as guest researcher for one month in 2007 at Friedrich-Schiller University; invited talk at COST 870 meeting on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in 2010 at Finland. Other elements of recognition of the scientific activity: invitation in 2003 to write a chapter in a Willey treatise about heavy metals, coordinator of the Work package “Adjusting root uptake of metals and transfer into plant biomass” and responsible for Romania in the FP7 project UMBRELLA-ENV-2008-1 no. 226870, invitation in 2009 to write a chapter about the role of organic carbon in the mobility of metals and the other invitation in 2010 to write a chapter about the role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the mobility of metals both in a Springer Book; research Awards from the University of Bucharest in 2006. She is part of professional organizations: International Society of Trace Element Biogeochemistry (ISTEB),  "Biogeointeraction group - BGI" - Friedrich Schiller University, and the National Consortium for Biogeochemistry of trace elements. She reviewed articles for ISI journals "Chemie der Erde", "Environmental Radiochemistry" and "Soil and Plant" and projects for CNCSIS programs. Her scientific contribution from the period 2003-2013 consist in 11 ISI articles; 8 book chapters at Willey and Springer houses; more than 35 other international proceedings articles; more than 30 oral presentations and 10 posters at international conferences; 2 books at national houses. Hirsch index and the total number of citations, according to Web of Science is H4, 40 citations in total. Recent publications:
